Intelligent Mail Tools Help Speed Mail

 Higher postage rates don't necessarily bring better service.  As the Postal Service has worked on realigning its transportation networks, we have seen slow delivery in many areas of the country.  Knowing when and where your mail is being delivered has never been more important.  If ProList is processing your mailings for you, you already have all the tools you need to track your mailings.

Earlier this year, ProList began using the new Intelligent Mail Barcode™ on all of the mailings we process.  Using our trackmymail.com™ system, this new barcode provides detailed information on when and where your mail is being delivered, and also lets you get a better understanding of where mail might be delayed in transit.  We've put this information into action for our clients to help improve their delivery.

One client, a Washington publisher, was experiencing extremely long delivery times on their standard mail promotions.  We joined our client in meetings with the post office and were able to identify the delay points and provide new mail entry points to speed up the mail using trackmymail.com data. As these new routings are employed, we will be able to monitor the progress with trackmymail.com.   We can also share these results with the Postal Service so they can make sure they are meeting the mailer's needs.  You have these same capabilities right now with the mail ProList handles for you.  We already track all of the letter and flat size mail we send with the Intelligent Mail Barcode because it eliminates the need to print out two barcodes on your mail.

There's more to Intelligent Mail than when and where mail is being delivered...now we can add "if"!  New redirected mail reports will identify any pieces in your mailings that have been forwarded or returned.  We'll let you know as soon as the mail is redirected, give you the counts of how many pieces were redirected, and even provide a list of exactly which pieces were redirected.  This means that you can update your mailing list right away and automatically determine the quality of the lists that you rent. And there's no special request or cost involved, it's just part of what you get as a ProList client.  Now this is mailing service at the cutting edge!  These new redirected mail reports will be available in the next few weeks.  We'll be happy to show you how they work – just let your customer service rep know that you're interested.  If you're not already a customer, maybe you should be so you can have a customer service rep to ask!
